Demand
Pulse Index · Sense
A quarterly read that names one binding constraint.
What is the Pulse Index?
Loopium's quarterly operating read across demand, retention, channel health, employee engagement and operating drag. It uses 40 measures and names one binding constraint per cycle. It is an operating read, not a generic survey: results are compared with businesses in a similar vertical and stage, and each cycle ends in one decision about where to act.
At a glance
Five dimensions. One constraint.
Sample read
What a Pulse read looks like.
Each dimension is scored from its measures on a 0–100 scale, where higher is healthier. The shaded band shows the comparison set. Each cycle names one binding constraint: the dimension that most limits the others this quarter.
In this fictional read, channel health is the constraint: demand is there, but product is not reaching it.

The five dimensions
What each dimension asks.
Each dimension is read from operating measures adjusted to the vertical and stage of the business. The measure set is provided as part of an agreed, scoped engagement.
Retention
Are we keeping who we win?
Channel health
Is product where demand is?
Employee engagement
Are the people running it with us?
Operating drag

|---|---|---|
| Source | Opinions | Operating data, plus a short structured team input |

FAQ
Questions about the Pulse Index
What is the Pulse Index?
A quarterly operating read across five dimensions (demand, retention, channel health, employee engagement and operating drag) built from 40 measures. Each cycle names one binding constraint worth solving next.
How is it different from an employee or customer survey?
A survey reports sentiment. The Pulse Index combines operating data with a short structured input from the team, compares results with businesses in a similar vertical and stage, and ends in a decision about where to act.
Why only one binding constraint?
Because a team that fixes five things at once fixes none of them properly. Naming the single constraint that limits growth this quarter keeps the next mission focused.
